Just finished reading this incredibly inspiring book.
"Uncommon Bonds: A Journey in Optimism is an inspiring story of love, faith, strength and determination – and community and country. By sharing the real-life stories of each brother—U.S. Army Ranger Commander Colonel (Retired) Steve Banach and Olympic gold medalists Ed and Lou Banach—our book focuses on how to overcome daunting challenges and surmount overwhelming odds."
The Banach brothers came from a large family (14 kids) that was displaced by tragedy. They were adopted by loving parents and each went on to become proof that the American Dream still exists.
All three brothers wrestled for the famed University of Iowa Hawkeyes, with Ed and Lou winning multiple NCAA championships and Olympic Gold Medals at the 1984 games.
All three went on to have very successful professional careers; Ed in academia, Lou in banking, and Steve as a decorated career Army officer.
There are so many lessons in this book that one can apply to various aspects of life: self-improvement, parenting, sports, business and leadership, etc.
It's a great read and I urge you to get your copy!
